Emax veneers in Turkey: the most natural-looking porcelain veneer, from €230.
Emax is the ceramic most cosmetic dentists choose for front teeth, because it lets light through like real enamel. This page explains what Emax veneers are, how they compare, how long they last and what they cost. At Elybe Clinic they are designed in 3D, made on site and fitted in one week.
What are Emax veneers?
Emax veneers are thin porcelain veneers made of IPS e.max, a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic from Ivoclar, bonded to the front of the teeth to change their color, shape and length. They combine strength with a translucency very close to natural enamel, and usually last 10 to 15 years. At Elybe Clinic in Istanbul, Emax veneers cost €230 per tooth, versus about $1,000 to $2,500 in the US.
Emax vs zirconia, composite and traditional porcelain
Emax is itself a porcelain (ceramic). Compared with older feldspathic porcelain, it is stronger, so it can be made thinner.

How are Emax veneers made?
There are two methods. e.max Press: a ceramic ingot is heated and pressed into a mold, then hand-finished by a ceramist for the most detailed look. e.max CAD: a block is milled by a machine from your digital scan, which is faster. The terms "Emax laminate veneers" and "lithium disilicate veneers" refer to the same thing.
How long do Emax veneers last?
Usually 10 to 15 years, often longer. These habits make the biggest difference.
Aftercare
- Brush twice a day with a non-abrasive toothpaste.
- Floss daily along the edges of each veneer.
- Wear your night guard if you grind or clench.
- See a dentist for a check-up and cleaning every 6 to 12 months.
Possible problems
- Short-term sensitivity to hot and cold.
- A chip or crack after a hard impact.
- A veneer coming loose, which can often be re-bonded.
- Gum irritation if cleaning around the edges is neglected.

Emax veneers: your questions
Emax veneers are thin shells made of IPS e.max, a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic from the Swiss company Ivoclar. They are bonded to the front of your teeth and let light through like natural enamel, which is why they look so lifelike.
At Elybe Clinic in Istanbul, Emax veneers cost €230 per tooth: €1,380 for 6, €2,300 for 10 and €4,600 for 20. In the US they usually cost $1,000 to $2,500 per tooth, while UK private clinics typically charge £500 to £1,200.
Usually 10 to 15 years, and often longer with good care. Brushing, flossing, regular check-ups and a night guard if you grind your teeth all help them last.
For front teeth where a natural look matters, most patients find them worth it: they resist stains, look lifelike and last a decade or more. If you grind heavily or are on a tight budget, zirconia or composite may suit you better.
They require removing 0.3 to 0.7 mm of enamel, which is permanent: the teeth will always need veneers. They do not harm the tooth underneath when well made and well bonded.
Emax is glazed ceramic, so it resists coffee, tea and wine stains far better than natural teeth or composite. It cannot be whitened, so if you want whiter natural teeth around them, whiten before your veneers are made.
Emax is a ceramic made in a lab; it looks more natural, keeps its color and lasts 10 to 15 years. Composite is a resin shaped on the tooth; it is cheaper and repairable but stains and wears in about 5 to 7 years.
They can, if you bite very hard objects, open packages with your teeth or grind at night. Chips are uncommon with normal use. A night guard, which we provide, is the best protection.
This page is general information. Emax veneers involve permanent enamel removal, so a dentist must examine your teeth before treatment.
